The main shot of the photo is of an American hip hop artist named “JAY-Z” his smart, posh style that he is wearing symbolizes the wealth of him and as the main shot on the cover is looking straight at you this suggests that the magazine is suited to you like the posh suit is suited to the artist ”JAY-Z”.

The font that the title is in suggests that the text is rolling as the “R” rolls underneath the “O”. The rolling stone magazine can suggest that the magazine is open to everyone as it rolls around. As the main shot covers part of the title this can suggest that the magazine authors are confident with the magazine that they do not need to show the full title.

The same font is used around the whole of the magazine with a red elegant title and other information upon it in capitals, in black beneath it. All the text does not obscure the main shot apart from parts that are not as important, as the hand which bears a large gem incrusted ring. This ring is a “pinkie ring” which helps with the title in the bottom left which says “JAY-Z ADDICTED TO THE GAME” which may suggest that he is a “PIMP”

The frontal main shot off “50 cent” shows an angry face, this can suggest that the magazine of “VIBE” is only open to people who are into the “gangster”/ hip hop life style. “50 Cents” clothes are black to suggest that he is evil and dark. The expression upon 50 cents face looks as though he is also angry, suggesting that he is apart of the “gangster lifestyle”.

The title of the “VIBE” magazine is slightly covered by the face of “50 cent” this means that the producers of the “VIBE” magazine are confident with the title that they do not have show the full thing.

Other text around the side of the main shot, indicates that the quote is from “50 cent” as above the quote it says “WHOSE AFRAID OF 50 CENT” then a quote from “50 cent” which says “I DON’T SEE SENSE IN RESOLVING ISSUES WITH ANYBODY” This quote refers to the fierce life of a “gangster”. In the quote the words “RESSOLVING ISSUES” are in red to show there fierce nature,

To the right of the main shot, there is some text about other artists in the same genre music as “50 cent”, these are highlighted to show their importance from the other text which is in white.

The main shot of the magazine cover is the shot of “ Billie Joe Armstrong” who is the largest photo upon the magazine. His casual pose and presence can suggest that he is one of the “ 25 ROCK STARS WHO CHANGED YOUR WORLD!” This is placed across the shot of the pose upon “Billie Joe Armstrong’s” chest. Other names are placed lower than this and they represent the other photos of the people who are boxed around the sides of the main pose.

The title of “KERRANG” is placed behind the head of the main shot. This suggests that “KERRANG” are confident with the audience their magazine is intended to and they know what they are looking for. “KERRANG” is in a broken text format suggesting that the work “KERRANG” is a broken window from a rock star lifestyle.

The text font upon the page is consistent all over the page and does not change. This is the same text as the title is in however the other text does not have the “broken window” effect.

Different colours are used upon the magazine cover to separate the different text. Brighter colours are used to help separate the more important text from the lesser impor
tant text.
