Here is the final contents page with images ,at the bottom, of the foo fighters and the killers. However when this shall be completed it shall have images of the band " Just Joking" which i shall have taken my self. The other images such as the background, the modified spraycan and the graffiti "BLAST" is all seen on the other of my final products.
New images which act as frames and labels (the papertag) are all new. This can show the rustic images of my music magazine and show that it is not of high price. The images were takes as i tore some brown paper and the tag is from a designer clothes shop which i modified.

Here is how far i have got through the final product of my, double page spread. The image upon the background can also be seen upon the background of my final product for the front cover too.

In the background there is a drawing that i have photoshopped from various images from the internet.

The other is a piece of text which i created to look like it had been spray painted upon the wall.

This is my final product, i am now just awaiting the chance to take the main photo of a local band, named Just Joking.

I created the whole of the image my self, except for using 2 pieces of fonts from the website www.dafont.com .

I even took i photo of a wall, and created the other images in the background myself.

Half Way Through My Final Product

This is the start of my final product.
As you can see i have taken the inspiration from the "BANG" image, this is to place emphasis upon the main shot, and draw attention to it.
The spotted comic strip style lines are as if arrows are pointing to the main shot creating it the centre of attention.

Thursday 13 November 2008

I have chosen this image for inspiration for the back ground of my music magazine to make the image stand out which is in the centre of the cover. By using this image i can create the desired look as my music is rock and the explosion makes the cover look agressive, just like the KERRANG magazine.

Wednesday 5 November 2008

In this double page spread of a rock music magazine you can see the large image on the left page which sets the theme for the page and what it is porbably going to be about. To the right of this picture is the title, it is o askew to show the informality of what the magazine is about. The title reads "post-gig adventures with THE ORANGES BAND" this title grabs the reader as it shows what the consumer shall be reading into. As the words "ORANGES BAND" is in a sprayed on style it suggest how the band is anti-social in its music.

Further down on the page is a symbol ,which is also the bands signature label, which overlaps the main shot to suggest the scrap-book effect of how the spread is formed together.

On the right hand page the context is placed in two collums which makes it easier for the reader to view. At the Bottom of this page there is a second image of the band which is slanted to also show the informality of the magazine. Around the edge of the image is a patchwork effect, this looks like the image has been sewn into the page, this can forward that the magazine is not very expensive and can be brought by the poorer community.

The background of the spread has an unlear and uneven style to it the page looks like it is a piece of steel which has been left to rust what can forward to the viewer that it is a rough magazine and the colours are somewhat fasionable

Thursday 23 October 2008

In this contents page i have encorporated the same title as the one from the front cover aswell as all of the sub title although i have added more information underneath the images. However i have also kept the same colour background as the front cover to show the consitancy throughout. To the bottom right is a role of film which has images taken from the different subjects and activiteis that are going on around the school and what are also encorporated into the magazine

Front Cover (Preliminary Product)

In the front cover i have a medium close up shot of a person playing soccer. I croped the background to direct the attention of the viewer upon the magazine. As shown in the magazine cover to the left you can see that the tiltle has not been covered by the main shot and shows the importance of it. The glow that has been placed around the title and the sub titles helps them stand out from the contrasting colour of the background. All the titles that have been dispplayed upon the frontcover have been filled with colours that are relevant to the title written. For E.g. kenya title has been coloured in the flags colours and think Pink is in Pink.

Tuesday 7 October 2008

Upon this magazine contents page the writing is all in the same font. This shows how basic content page styles have effect. As the contents page has no change in colour, text or font, it enhances the images that are placed to the bottom right which reach up just over half way of the page. The images that are on the bottom of the contents pages have relevance to John Lennon and significant to him as they are “A TRIBUTE TO JOHN LENNON”

As the images are in bright colours and the contents and background have the same grey and white, the pictures could symbolize the happy times in his life.

As the contents are in block colour with no real change in the text apart from sub titles ,which are in lower case to show more information, all these standard enhance the images to the right of the page.

Tuesday 30 September 2008

The main shot of the photo is of an American hip hop artist named “JAY-Z” his smart, posh style that he is wearing symbolizes the wealth of him and as the main shot on the cover is looking straight at you this suggests that the magazine is suited to you like the posh suit is suited to the artist ”JAY-Z”.

The font that the title is in suggests that the text is rolling as the “R” rolls underneath the “O”. The rolling stone magazine can suggest that the magazine is open to everyone as it rolls around. As the main shot covers part of the title this can suggest that the magazine authors are confident with the magazine that they do not need to show the full title.

The same font is used around the whole of the magazine with a red elegant title and other information upon it in capitals, in black beneath it. All the text does not obscure the main shot apart from parts that are not as important, as the hand which bears a large gem incrusted ring. This ring is a “pinkie ring” which helps with the title in the bottom left which says “JAY-Z ADDICTED TO THE GAME” which may suggest that he is a “PIMP”

Monday 29 September 2008

The frontal main shot off “50 cent” shows an angry face, this can suggest that the magazine of “VIBE” is only open to people who are into the “gangster”/ hip hop life style. “50 Cents” clothes are black to suggest that he is evil and dark. The expression upon 50 cents face looks as though he is also angry, suggesting that he is apart of the “gangster lifestyle”.

The title of the “VIBE” magazine is slightly covered by the face of “50 cent” this means that the producers of the “VIBE” magazine are confident with the title that they do not have show the full thing.

Other text around the side of the main shot, indicates that the quote is from “50 cent” as above the quote it says “WHOSE AFRAID OF 50 CENT” then a quote from “50 cent” which says “I DON’T SEE SENSE IN RESOLVING ISSUES WITH ANYBODY” This quote refers to the fierce life of a “gangster”. In the quote the words “RESSOLVING ISSUES” are in red to show there fierce nature,

To the right of the main shot, there is some text about other artists in the same genre music as “50 cent”, these are highlighted to show their importance from the other text which is in white.

The main shot of the magazine cover is the shot of “ Billie Joe Armstrong” who is the largest photo upon the magazine. His casual pose and presence can suggest that he is one of the “ 25 ROCK STARS WHO CHANGED YOUR WORLD!” This is placed across the shot of the pose upon “Billie Joe Armstrong’s” chest. Other names are placed lower than this and they represent the other photos of the people who are boxed around the sides of the main pose.

The title of “KERRANG” is placed behind the head of the main shot. This suggests that “KERRANG” are confident with the audience their magazine is intended to and they know what they are looking for. “KERRANG” is in a broken text format suggesting that the work “KERRANG” is a broken window from a rock star lifestyle.

The text font upon the page is consistent all over the page and does not change. This is the same text as the title is in however the other text does not have the “broken window” effect.

Different colours are used upon the magazine cover to separate the different text. Brighter colours are used to help separate the more important text from the lesser impor
tant text.
